Principally business correspondence, bills, receipts, invoices, orders, letters of exchange, manifests of ships' cargoes, notes and accounts of Dutilh and partner John Gottfried Wachsmuth. There are several papers of "Stephen" Dutilh, a Philadelphia merchant, and two letters relating to the capture of one of his ships by a French privateer. Also included are papers concerning legal cases in which the firm was plaintiff, letters pertaining to trade difficulties with France and Great Britain, and several price lists.
